The whumpee constantly felt miserable under the whumper- and while a lot of that was because of the constant torture and isolation, so much pain turned out to be a result from the constant cold in their cell. Even when the whumpee was left alone, that cold seeped into their bones, like a constant reminder of what was happening to them.
